There is so much I want to say about the things going on in this world, but in truth, it would be to no avail. It just feels like the next year or two is going to be apocalyptic for the American conservative Christian. Make memories that will last this year. Hold those you love tightly. Read the Word of God, for if things continue the way they seem they are going, the new normal will be much worse than we have it today. I also fear that the Bible may soon be targeted as (they would say) it promotes slavery and anti-social agenda. It’s teachings on sexual immorality will soon be viewed as hateful.
Remember, all of these things were prophesied in scripture. And much worse things will come before the Lord returns. How do we know He is coming soon? The world is quickly leaving the Christian faith and embracing something else. Jesus told us that the tribulation would be short or no man would be able to keep his faith.
If you really believe in Jesus Christ, it is not time to walk out of our churches to be singled out by Satan’s attacks alone. We need each other more than ever. The world is going through a drastic cultural and spiritual shift. And our children and grandchildren will have absolutely no ability to stand against the propaganda that will be coming without a solid community of faith to support them.
In 5 years, it may be illegal to worship in a conservative Christian fellowship or read a Bible that has not been purified of intolerance and social justice issues. And if that horrific fact would come to pass, I would pray that we would take the short time we have left to internalize as much of the living Word that we can.
Do we dare give the prophecy of Joseph? We have had our years of plenty. Who knows how many days or years we will have left. But the famine is coming. Prepare for the coming years of spiritual dryness. For the Bread of Life and Living Water are going to be in short supply in those last days. We will trim our lamps with only the oil we carry in our reserves. With the stores closing, new oil will be almost impossible to find to keep our lamps trimmed for the return of the bridegroom.
I will do what I can to keep the Lord’s table open for a true fellowship of believers who seek an unadulterated Gospel and seek the Truth of Christ and His Holiness. But who knows how much longer we will be able to meet in public. For those who have left the church, get back into a Christian fellowship. The eternity of your children may hang perilously on that decision as the world has their ear.
