A Reformation is Coming

A reformation is coming. What Luther and Wesley were unwilling to do, new reformers are anticipating. It is time to stop building buildings and investing in assets that really only benefit ourselves. It is time to take the democracy (church government) out of a faith as we are ruled by one King who uses messengers to reveal His will for His people through prayer, preaching, and His Spirit.

It is time to remove the cold idols of religion and tradition and replace them with the Truth of the Word reflected in our love for others through Jesus Christ. A faith rooted in holiness. A faith void of hypocrisy. A faith that is seen in every aspect of the Christian’s life. You may ask, “How would a church function outside of a church government and without any assets? That is a great question. It is a church that functions in faith. A church who supports a pastor out of love and not compulsion. It is a church who fills the needs of others directly and weekly as good stewards of God’s provision. It is a church bound by fellowship and not by the bylaws of a corporation. A church with no assets… A church with nothing to fight over… Just a group of like-minded people claiming to be a small part of the larger Bride of Christ…

Can a church like this really be effective in serving the Lord? That is the type of fellowship we will be starting in the next few months in the Milaca area. We have found a building to use. We have a preacher to share the Word of God. We will most likely have many come who are in need. What we are praying for are some seasoned saints who would be willing to walk along side this new work as we test and modify this new tool (or method) of functioning as a local church. We need some elders and we need some loving servants. Wednesday evenings will eventually be our weekly service as our space will dictate our schedule. I look forward to sharing more information as it becomes available. Holiness unto the Lord…
